Partnerships
Throughout the year, we work with lots of different individuals and organisations that help to keep us active. We have put some of those updates on this web page.
June 25th - Cllr. Tommy Kinsella funding
Cllr. Tommy Kinsella very kindly gave the school a sum of money to purchase sports equipment. We bought a tennis net, sacks for sports day, a tug of war rope and various other bits and pieces. We're very grateful for this money to help us to add to our active schools equipment. We wouldn't have been able to run our sports day without it. We also bought some table tennis sets for our classrooms, which will be really useful on rainy lunchbreaks.

Bike Week - May 12th
This week is National Bike Week, organised by the National Transport Authority. In Scoil Moling, we kicked off with everybody bringing in their own bikes or scooters, and laid out a road network on the ball court. Our road network had stop signs, yield signs, a pedestrian crossing and various turns and bends to navigate.

PAWS Water Safety Training - May 7th
Today we were joined by Rosie O'Regan from Water Safety Ireland to give us PAWS training (Primary Aquatic Water Safety). We spent some time in the classroom, with Rosie teaching us all about the various hazards around our homes and farms, as well as out and about. She also have us some great life saving tips on how to use life jackets. Then we went outside and practice throwing life rings, and ropes which hopefully we will never have to use! It was a really great day, and everyone was grateful to Rosie for helping us to finish the course.

Carlow GAA Hurling - May 6th
Today Rob & Richie joined us from Carlow GAA to continue on our training, which we started with Brendan Hayden last week. Everyone always enjoys a bit of hurling in Scoil Moling, especially when it's in the sunshine, and especially when it's competitive!

Old School Games - Carlow Sports Partnership - April 8th
Today, Carlow Sports Partnership came to us to teach us some old style school games. Each class went out individually first and ran egg and spoon races, sack races, three legged races and wheelbarrow races. Then, the whole school came out and we got into our house teams and competed for points. Everyone had a really fantastic day, and we're really grateful for Carlow Sports Partnership for coming in to us.

Hurling with Paul Dempsey - Final Session - March 27th 2025
Today was our final hurling session with Paul Dempsey from the club. We are so grateful for all Paul has taught us over the past few weeks.
