Active Schools Week 2025
Our Active Schools Week took place from June 9th until June 13th this year, and it finished with a parish Sports Day on Friday 13th, where Glynn NS, Drummond NS and Newtown NS all competed with one another at the pitch in Bahana.
Here are some updates from the week:
June 13th 2025 - ASW Day 5 - Sports Day
Today at the pitch in Bahana, we held our sports day along with Newtown NS and Drummond NS. Everyone was broken into coloured teams, and the schools were mixed in the teams. There were lots of events throughout the morning such as sprints, tug of war, wellie throw, sack race, egg and spoon race and 3-legged race. In the afternoon there were roudners games between the teams. There was an ice cream van at lunchtime. Everyone really had a great day.

June 12th 2025 - ASW Day 4 - Basketball
Today for Day 4 of our active schools week, we had a basketball shooting competition. It was again between the Nore, Barrow and Suir house teams. We were all really surprised at home many people were able to score so accurately! It was a little rainy today, but we didn't mind.

June 11th 2025 - ASW Day 3 - Orienteering
Today we ran a whole school orienteering competition, again in our house groups. We had our map of the school that the children created at the start of the year, and everyone had a set of clues. The clues were all maths puzzles. The winning team were the group who completed the course the quickest. Here are some pictures of the event:

June 10th 2025 - ASW Day 2 - Penalty Shoot Out
Today in school as part of Active Schools Week we had a penalty shoot out. We took turns of being in goals, and everybody had 3 shots. Winners stayed on, and went into a final. Winners scored points for their teams.

June 9th 2025 - ASW Day 1 - Rounders
Today was the first day of our Active Schools Week. We all were in our house teams, and we worked together in a big game of roudners. Everybody in the school got involved, and it was a really great start to the week. We were lucky that the weather was so fine. Here are some pictures:
